Facebook and GM repair relationship

It's official: Facebook and GM have made up.

According to appearances on Facebook of GM ads and articles on forbes.com and CNN.com, Chevrolet has been advertising on Facebook again.

Less than a year ago, GM publicly criticized Facebook's advertising methods, claiming that advertising on the site was not effective. Now, the company is advertising with the social networking giant all over again.

But why?

According to forbes.com, rekindling a relationship with Facebook was part of GM"s "Find New Roads" campaign, which is geared toward finding and utilizing new methods of advertising.

Of course, the original and mobile version of Facebook are a large part of this type of advertising for GM. That means that things had to be patched up with Facebook to get this going.

It was not an easy process, though, and the decision was not made quickly. According to a report on CNN.com, the social networking giant did not let go of the relationship with GM so easily. The two companies have been discussing the disappointment that GM experienced while advertising on the site for a year.

It looks as if some agreement was made, and the two companies are working together once again.

The agreement mainly centered on mobile advertising, which is becoming a large part of Facebook's methods of making money very quickly, as Facebook mobile applications are quickly becoming a main method of logging onto the site.

GM looked at mobile, too, as part of their campaign, so the ad campaign was worked out primarily for Facebook mobile this time around.
