Google is Testing a New Navigation Design

Google recently confirmed that they are working on a new navigation scheme to change the black navi bar on top of their home page.

The new version of the Google navigation is now being tested. It entails users to click on a grid icon, similar to that of Chromse OS to access links for Gmail, YouTube, and other Google services, however, the new navigation system is still in its early stage of testing.

If the result of the testing goes well, the new grid would then be replacing the black navigation bar for good. Google has been using the black navigation bar since 2011 as a replacement for their former drop-down navigation system that descended from their logo.

Users didn’t like the navigation system and said that it makes the Google services hard to find making Google remove the drop-down system and had it replaced with the prominent black navigation bar.
