Top Chef to Come to Back to Iowa City

Iowa City will bring Top Chef back next month for the third consecutive year, according to an article released on the Iowa City Patch website. This event is perfect for food lovers.



The 3rd Annual Top Chef follows suit of what has thus far been a very popular event held by the Iowa City Downtown District. The event has drawn both public interest and an extensive amount of local restaurant and bar talent as well. It has to this date raised a good amount of money.



During the event, participants, who are form local restaurants and diners, will compete with each other by creating a signature dishes from their own restaurants for feature prizes, which will be presented after judging.

Also returning to the event is the bartender's competition to make the most creative and delicious cocktail and take home the Top Bartender Award.

A new competition will be featured this year. There will be a pastry chef category that has been created to feature desserts from various local restaurants. This category has been created to pair with the entree category.

Local breweries and distilleries will be sharing their signature liquors with the public as well for an additional level of enjoyment.

Awards to be presented at the event will be voted on by judges and attendants.

The 3rd Annual Top Chef competition will take place Tuesday, March 26 at hotelVetro from 5-7 p.m. Tickets to attend are $35 per person and go quickly every year. They can be purchased at www.downtowniowacity.com.
