President Barack Obama defeated Mitt Romney in the 2012 election to serve another four years at the head of the nation. His official inauguration will be in January of 2013 for the 2013-2016 presidential term.
And some Iowa City youth are planning to attend to the inauguration this January.
About 20 youth group members from an Iowa City youth group plan to travel to Washington, D.C in order to see President Barack Obama's second term inauguration next month.
The youth group that has announced their plans to attend the swearing-in of the president is called FastTrac, and the majority of the members will be going. This youth group, according to an article on the Sioux City Journal, is made up of mostly African-American students of junior and senior high school age.
The group is dedicated to community involvement, academic excellence, and securing a future. Attendance of the inauguration goes along with what the group attempts to instill into the beliefs of its members: anything is possible as long as you set your goals and keep them in mind.
