Iowa City Woman Attempts to Avoid Charges by Posing as Her Twin

According to a recent police report, one Iowa City woman has a very unique approach to avoiding the issue of a warrant.

Police reports say that a woman pretended to be her twin sister when they attempted to serve her with a warrant for hitting a teacher with her car at an Iowa City elementary school.

The police report states taht 35-year-old Aisha Chante Watson hit a teacher's left arm with her mirror as she drove through the bus lane at Lucas Elementary School. The teacher allegedly tried to warn Watson that the lane was a bus lane only.

The report also states that Watson did not stop when she hit the teacher, who sought treatment for the incident later that day.

Watson refused to speak to a second teacher as she dropped her daughter off for school when the teacher attempted to talk to her. She simply dropped her daughter off and left without a word.

Police were allegedly able to contact Watson, who admitted to hitting the teacher, claiming that the teacher hit the mirror on purpose. She refused to cooperate with police regarding the incident.

Police went to Watson's home to serve her with an arrest warrant Monday evening, but Watson again did not cooperate. When she finally answered the door, she claimed she was her twin sister, Nicole Nichole Watson from Illinois.

After obtaining information about the identity of the sister in question and Watson herself, police returned to the residence and arrested her. She resisted and did not cooperate with them.

Watson has admitted to falsely using her sister's name, stating that she had an outstanding warrant. Watson faces three misdemeanors: leaving the scene of an injury incident, providing false information, and interference with official acts.
