Iowa City Sings for Cancer Patient

A young Iowa City boy battling a very unlucky and sad condition has a reason to smile this Christmas season, according to an article recently posted on kcrg.com.

Dozens have gathered recently via Facebook to give a little light to 5-year-old Dashiell Codd's days as he battles with a rare liver cancer that has recently spread over other parts of his body.

Many have come together through a page that was set up on Facebook by posting videos of themselves singing a song called "Mahna Mahna" from the Muppets to Dashiell.

"Mahna Mahna" is a favorite song of the boy's from the Muppet's. He loves to watch the show, according to his father, Brian Codd. He said that Dashiell would watch the Muppets on television every night.

The Facebook page was created by Pamela Codd, Dashiell's mother, as an attempt to allow friends to cheer the boy up.

The message has spread and dozens more have posted on the page for him to see and enjoy. Some have even been strangers.

Dashiell has a very rare liver cancer known as hepatoblastoma. He was diagnosed with the cancer in March. He has undergone many rounds of chemo treatment for the cancer and even a liver transplant.

Unfortunately, more tumors were found recently, this time in Dashiell's lungs. The chemo will continue on a more intense scale. Despite the very hard times, his parents are doing everything that they can to stay positive and to make the time as enjoyable as possible for Dashiell.
