Armed Robbery Leads to Four Arrests

Four teenagers have been accused in an armed robbery that happened Sunday night, according to thegazette.com.

Police reports state that three males entered a home a little after 10:30 p.m. that night and one of them pointed a handgun at one of the resident's heads, demanding their laptops.

Police discovered the group was driven away by a female and that the handgun held at the victim's head was thrown out. The gun has not been discovered as of yet.

17-year-old Brandon Romero Johnson of Iowa City was the alleged ringleader of the robbery, holding a gun to the back of the victim's head. He allegedly entered a home and made demands of the victims at gunpoint, according to the police report.

According to the report, 17-year-old Brandon Omar Tenywa Payne of Iowa City, was also allegedly armed and assisted in the robbery.

18-year-old Shakila Ann Holder of Iowa City was also involved. She is accused of participating and driving the getaway car and attempting to conceal evidence from the investigators.

The fourth member arrested and charged was 19-year-old Ki'el Dante Washington. Police claimed he jumped out of the vehicle and ran away from officers, allegedly because he had warrants for his arrest.

Johnson faces five felony charges, two of which are for first-degree robbery. These each carry a sentence of up to 25 years in prison.

Holder faces two charges: accessory to felony and second degree theft. Payne faces two charges, one of which is felony theft. Washington faces one charge of interference with official acts. He may face additional charges, though, according to police.

Johnson has a criminal history from 2009. Payne was also arrested on that date Holder has a minor criminal history, and Washington has a lengthy criminal history in Iowa.

Johnson, Holder, and Washington are all still being held in Johnson County Jail. Payne has been released.

The four teenagers arrested are the only four that are believed to be involved in the robbery.
