Former Iowa Teacher Had Sex with Students

A former Iowa high school teacher has recently admitted that she had sexual relationships with several male students.



24-year old Ashley Nicole Anderson was an algebra, geometry, and pre-calculus teacher at Aplington-Parkersburg High School, as well as the faculty adviser for Students Against Drunk Driving and assistant girls' track coach, according to omaha.com. She recently left her position as a teacher.

On September 20, police received information that Anderson had sexually abused a student and anoether teacher had heard about it. The police sent the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation to find out what happened.

The investigation discovered that the relationship recently with an 18-year old senior at the school, and previous relationships with two 16-year old students, one a junior and one a sophomore. Another relationship was with a 17-year old student and continued until after he graduated.

All of the relationships were over a time period of less than a year. They all lasted from August 1 of last year to June 30 of this year.

Anderson turned herself into authorities on Friday, admitting that she had four relationships with students last year of a sexual nature. A complaint was filed in Butler County.

The relationships included nude photographs being sent in text messages, oral sex and intercourse with one of the students.

Anderson was arrested, but posted $5,000 bond and was released from the Butler County Jail. There is no information as to whether she has gotten an attorney.

She faces charges of sexual exploitation by a school employee. The four counts could land her five years in prison per count.
