Iowa football may be hurting after three different players have been arrested in separate incidents.
Three different Iowa football players have recently been arrested in different incidents.
The starting cornerback for Iowa was one of these three. 21-year-old Micah Hyde was arrested early Saturday morning at Old Capital Brew Works and faces charges of public intoxication and interference with official acts. He was in jail still as of 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Hyde is also one of the team's captains and a senior. He has no previous legal issues.
According to sfgate.com, a police report stated that hide was one of a group of about 15 people that refused to leave the bar at closing time after Friday night and fought with the staff. They ran when police arrived and told them to stop.
19-year-old back-up tight end Ray Hamilton for Iowa was arrested as well. He was arrested on suspicion of being underage at a bar after 10 p.m., as he is not yet 21.
Reserve offensive lineman Drew Clark was the third of the three players arrested. He was also arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.
None of the players offered comments on the arrests, and neither did the athletics officials, including head coach Kirk Ferentz, that were contacted Saturday. No statements about the arrests have been released as of yet.
Iowa resumes play for this season next Saturday. It is unknown if Hyde will be playing and what the consequences will be for the arrest, though the offense is minor.
