According to kcrg.com, Jon Bon Jovi performed at Hubbard Park in Iowa City on Friday in an event put together by the Obama campaign. In his performance, he noted that even though he could not tell other people how to vote, he still encouraged them to do so. He noted the importance of voting.
Jon Bon Jovi told the cheering crowd, "I'm not even here to tell you who to vote for. You know who I'm going to vote for, but I'm not here to influence your vote. The idea is quite simple: We are the change we want to be."
Bon Jovi played some of his hits after several speakers talked to the crowd, urging them to vote Democrat. There were members of Congress as well as UI graduates, Marines, and even band members speaking before the performance.
Close to 700 people attended the gathering at Hubbard Park for the event, even though it was slightly chilly outside and many had to be bundled up. Bon Jovi's performance was met with many cheers from the crowd.
