Iowa Police In Search of Vandal

Iowa City is known for its lovely downtown and all of the beautiful landscaping that is there. A woman, though, allegedly destroyed some of the plants. Police are offering a reward for any information given that can lead to her capture.



Police in Iowa City announced on Wednesday that a crime had taken place in downtown Iowa City. Surveillance footage displayed a woman ripping some of downtown Iowa City's beautiful plants right out of the planters.

The announcement was made this Wednesday after police saw the surveillance videos. The crime took place on September 7 at a little after 9 p.m. in front of the Hotel Vetro in downtown Iowa City. This is very close to the city's well-known pedestrian mall.

According to the report by police featured on newsday.com, the plants that were ripped out of the planters were ruined. The woman will be held responsible for the damage she did to the plants when she is apprehended. And police are asking for assistance in the search for this woman.

Police are asking for any information regarding the woman's identity and whereabouts. Iowa City Area Crimestoppers will give up to $1000 for any information given that will lead to her arrest. As is policy, any reports will remain anonymous.

The police are looking to apprehend and charge the woman as part of a broader movement that is going on. There has been a rise in the nuisance going on in downtown, and police have a desire to curb all of these actions.
