The incredibly popular television show American Idol is back for yet another season, and this time it will be doing something very different, and this difference will mean something very good for those that would like to try out.
American Idol's twelfth season will host one of its auditions right in Iowa City among other smaller cities.
The American Idol auditions for the twelfth season of the popular show are doing something very different this year than it has ever done for the auditions to be on the show. The show will not be taking its regular tours through some of the largest cities in the nation to get its contestants.
For the upcoming season, American Idol has announced what will be known as a "Small Town Audition Bus Tour." Instead of hosting auditions at many different large cities like before, it will be hosting them in medium-sized cities.
This is an unusual break from what the show has previously done to get its contestants and great news for those that don't want to make the trip to a large city and don't live in one.
The cities that will be hosting auditions for American Idol: Season 12 will be as follows, according to the Cedar Falls Patch website:
Grand Junction, Colorado; Casper, Wyoming; Rock Rapids, Iowa; Iowa City, Iowa; Bowling Green, Kentucky; Joplin, Missouri; Idaho Falls, Idaho; Billings, Minnesota; Clarksdale, Mississippi; and Dodge City, Kansas.
No specific audition dates and times have been announced as of yet. More information about the new season's auditions can be found on the American Idol website, www.americanidol.com
