Bodies Found in Iowa State Park

A discovery of two bodies was made in Iowa State Park recently. The bodies have not been identified, but could possibly be a mother and her son that have gone missing after visiting the Iowa area recently.

The bodies were discovered about 7 p.m. last night in the woods in Iowa State Park by a visitor to the park. The bodies were too far decomposed for any immediate identifications to be made at this point.

41-year old Charlotte Schilling and her 10-year old son Owen went missing about two weeks ago after they left their home in Nebraska. Searches had already been issued for the individuals after attempts to contact her had resulted in no response.

Schilling's vehicle was found nearby with her wallet and cell phone in it days before and witnesses stated that they had seen her that very day in a department store that was not far away.

The case is being treated as a very serious one even though because of the boy even though the child has not been believed to be in any danger thus far.

According to the Des Moines Register website, no results have come yet from autopsies that have been done to determine the identity of the bodies as well as the cause of death if possible.

It has yet to be determined how long the autopsies will actually take and when the results will come back revealing the information that is needed, and no other facts can be discovered until then.
