This July in Iowa City will feature yet another event highlighting the literary and cultural history of Iowa City and it's denomination as an official city of literature.
The Iowa City Book Festival will be held July 13-15, 2012 on the UI Pentacrest. Events include everything from a Literary Carnival to the festival's very own "Hunger Games."
Several local authors are scheduled to participate in the festival this summer, including Larry Baker and Zach Wahls.
Mr. Larry Baker is the author of Athens/America, A Good Man, and The Flamingo Rising, and is an adjunct assistant professor in the University of Iowa's division of continuing education.
Wahls, who we previously wrote about, rocketed to national fame after a video of a speech he gave to the Iowa House Judiciary Committee appeared on YouTube in January 2011.
This is the book festivals fourth year, and it is hosted by the University of Iowa Libraries. The festival started as a single-day event outside the main library, and has now expanded to three days and multiple venues throughout downtown Iowa City.
