Come What May 6th Music Festival

Next weekend, All Music music shop will be hosting an all day music festival in and near their store at 1016 Gilbert Court, featuring performances from five bands and artwork by three local area artists.

A relatively new festival in town, Come What May 6th focuses on bringing together some of the best jazz, jam, and alternative bands, along with providing food and drinks for a suggested donation of only $5. There will also be a beer and wine tasting throughout the event. The food and drinks will be provided by Myep Fastrack.

This year's bands, performing from 1pm until 6pm, are an eclectic set of old and new musicians: first is Mykls Rhythm Engine; followed Hotz & Geiger at two; at three, Fairwell McKenzie will go on; four o'clock will bring Amoeba Transfer Station; and Tony Brown and his Big Backyard Jam will round out the evening at 5pm.

The artists in exhibit inside All Music for the event include painter and tarot card-maker, Jacksson Timothy, Vana Lea Photography, and local artist and musician Terry Truthawk.

Run by owners E. G. Madison and M. F. Downing, All Music is a great place to pick up pianos, organs, drums, and a variety of other instruments. They also offer private music lessons and the teachers will be in attendance to take questions and explain their services.

Hopefully the weather will have completely turned around by next weekend, for this will surely be a fun in and out door festival. Mark your calendars for May 6th, Noon til evening, at 1016 Gilbert Court.
