After 15 years, Mary Clarke a scout for the St. Louis based modeling agency called Mother Model Management, returns to the Midwest with her agency in search of potential talent to introduce to the world.
15 years ago, Clark and her agency traveled all over the Midwest, including Iowa city, in search of talent. That year, Ashton Kutcher was discovered at a bar called the Airliner, where the agency plans to return
The discovery launched a very successful career for Kutcher. He signed with Mother Model Management in 1997. After this, he began acting and modeling professionally. He progressed through the initial stages to what is today a reputable career a decade and a half later.
Clarke expressed positive thoughts about the potential talent from the Midwest, expressing good reviews about what they bring to the modeling and/or acting business. She is a former resident of Iowa City herself, so she urges her agency to search through Iowa often, as they do.
Feelings about the talent agency returning to the Iowa City bar in search of talent have been mixed, even on the University of Iowa campus. Many are excited about it and about the reputation that Iowa can get form more talent being discovered in the area, but others are less concerned about the re-appearance of the talent search.
Mother Model Management will come to the Airliner this Saturday in search of talent. They will host a casting from 2 to 5 p.m. that day and invite all interested models to attend. The bar is located at 22 South Clinton Street in Iowa City.
